Font and Background Color Independent Text Binarization



        This is the MATLAB code of the binarization method described in the paper entitled "Font and background color independent text binarization" published at the 2nd International Workshop on Camera-Based Document Analysis and Recognition (CBDAR), pages 3-9, 2007, Brazil. The full paper is available here

        Besides being parameter-free, the method can handle documents having widely varying text sizes and the presence of inverse text, unlike other existing local binarization methods.         
    1) The input for the code is a color image
    2) It returns a binarized image
